While working on this, I find it amazing how much it pops once you start to add the highlights and shadows. So, when you're doing something like this, don't leave out those finishing touches. :D
My day-to-day hand writing is not the best, so a while back I learned how to do this kind of 'creative writing' from a lady online named Lori Vleigen. I love her artwork and she does a lot of journaling in this 'walls' book. It's page after page of someones photographs of different 'walls'. Turns out, its a cool way to journal. This idea is from one of her pages and I decided to try it for myself. You can get the journal on amazon.ca.

OOOH, twice in one week. ;-) I've actually been able to get to my craft room a few times this week and finish a journal page. Just playing with the Gelatos again (LOVE THEM) and I bought a few more Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens to play with. Add in some stencilling and stamping, to create a fun journal page. I love the fall colours, too. A 'change' from my usual purples and blues. LOL
Been trying to get out of a 'funk' and making a decision to be happier. It is a choice and I have to make it. I haven't felt at all creative for a while now - a stressful 'bump' in the road of life is to blame for that. I had started this about a month ago and then stopped for a while. This weekend seemed like a good time to work on it again... and I'm glad I did. I decided to try a mixed media canvas. I've been seeing so many wonderful ideas on Pinterest and I needed to do something creative. I usually have a hard time letting myself go with something like this - the messier, the better. I tend to be more controlled with my 'art'. I'm pretty happy with my 'first' attempt, though. I used a lot of supplies for this one... Gelatos, modelling paste, stencils, papers, stamps, PITT pens (which I now LOVE), tissue, Micron pens and even some sprays. I really like how it turned out and love the bright, bold colours of the Gelatos! This is a 12" x 24" canvas and its actually something I will hang somewhere. :D I included a couple close-ups to see the details. Even if you don't think of yourself as a creative type, just do it. Take it from me, try to do something creative, EVERYDAY. You'll thank yourself for it. :-) It's been a rough month… I know that life is like a roller coaster but I hate them! I've been on way more of them lately than I would care to so if my life wants to smooth out and be boring for a while, that would be appreciated. LOL I decided to do this journal page because I hadn't had the chance to do much 'art' lately. I used some sprays, gelatos, stencils, stamps and even incorporated some of my 'doodles'. Just hoping for more sun than clouds in the future. :D |
