Been trying to get out of a 'funk' and making a decision to be happier. It is a choice and I have to make it.
OOOH, twice in one week. ;-) I've actually been able to get to my craft room a few times this week and finish a journal page. Just playing with the Gelatos again (LOVE THEM) and I bought a few more Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens to play with. Add in some stencilling and stamping, to create a fun journal page. I love the fall colours, too. A 'change' from my usual purples and blues. LOL

I haven't felt at all creative for a while now - a stressful 'bump' in the road of life is to blame for that. I had started this about a month ago and then stopped for a while. This weekend seemed like a good time to work on it again... and I'm glad I did. I decided to try a mixed media canvas. I've been seeing so many wonderful ideas on Pinterest and I needed to do something creative. I usually have a hard time letting myself go with something like this - the messier, the better. I tend to be more controlled with my 'art'. I'm pretty happy with my 'first' attempt, though. I used a lot of supplies for this one... Gelatos, modelling paste, stencils, papers, stamps, PITT pens (which I now LOVE), tissue, Micron pens and even some sprays. I really like how it turned out and love the bright, bold colours of the Gelatos! This is a 12" x 24" canvas and its actually something I will hang somewhere. :D I included a couple close-ups to see the details. Even if you don't think of yourself as a creative type, just do it. Take it from me, try to do something creative, EVERYDAY. You'll thank yourself for it. :-) It's been a rough month… I know that life is like a roller coaster but I hate them! I've been on way more of them lately than I would care to so if my life wants to smooth out and be boring for a while, that would be appreciated. LOL I decided to do this journal page because I hadn't had the chance to do much 'art' lately. I used some sprays, gelatos, stencils, stamps and even incorporated some of my 'doodles'. Just hoping for more sun than clouds in the future. :D I had some fun with this one… I've been seeing cards using Burlap 'paper' lately and decided I'd like to try it. You can do some interesting things with it! Here's my first card with it… nice colours too. It was also the first time I've used my sewing machine on a card. I sewed the pieces together with a zig zag stitch. Very cool! The little clothes pins have been 'dyed' using a brown re-inker. I like the darker look than just plain wood. Kind of gives it a stained look. :-) |
