As promised, here is the 50th birthday card I made for the boss at work. It's always a challenge (for me, anyhow) to come up with good 'masculine' cards since I usually do 'pretty' things. LOL I think this worked out quite well. I'm glad I got to use the burlap... I've had it for a while and never seem to find a use for it. I also used the '5' and '0' from the Heidi Swapp collection of pre-cut numbers. The metal clip and stars also seem more 'manly'. The store we work in, sells lots of wood products and burlap so I think these were a good choice. You have to challenge yourself from time to time, to keep the creativity flowing. I hope you find some time to be creative too. :D |

It's been a while but I found some time to be creative this weekend. 😊 I found some new Gelatos (pastels) at my local craft store and wanted to give them a go. I decided that I wanted to do another canvas so here's what I came up with. A canvas, some gelato pens, stencils, sprays, stamps, tissue and an idea... I really like how it turned out. 😊 It's been a rough month… I know that life is like a roller coaster but I hate them! I've been on way more of them lately than I would care to so if my life wants to smooth out and be boring for a while, that would be appreciated. LOL I decided to do this journal page because I hadn't had the chance to do much 'art' lately. I used some sprays, gelatos, stencils, stamps and even incorporated some of my 'doodles'. Just hoping for more sun than clouds in the future. :D It has been a rough week but my father-in-law, Jack, isn't suffering anymore. He fought a brave, albeit short, battle with the evil Cancer and unfortunately, he was taken from us far too quickly. He was a great man and will be greatly missed.
I decided to pay tribute to him with this layout and I really like how it turned out. I will always remember special things about him like how he called everyone either 'Dude' or 'Babe'. ;-) I wish that my daughter, his only grandchild, had a chance to get to know him better. We will cherish the time we did have with him. Ok, Jack, "We're good to go"... |
