Well I've been working on lots of stuff recently... Here are a few.
I always feel great after I take the time to draw or do something creative. Problem is, I don't do it often enough. Why is that? We always hear that we should 'do what we love' but yet, we don't! Life's too short.

Last fall, I started learning brush lettering after taking an online class by Amanda Arneill at SayItPretty.com. I really have to practice more often, though. She is so darn inspirational! I love listening to her tips and tricks. 👍 I would love to be able to draw amazing quotes for people like she does. Kuddos to her for doing what she loves. Only downside is that I 'need' to buy more and more pens (a bit OCD, I think 😉) but sadly, I have to wait. (My husband just got laid off 😁😢) Amanda recommends the Tombow dual brush markers and I love them too. They have a brush tip on one end and a fine tip on the other. You can write, draw and blend with them. They work really well for a watercolour looking background too! They are awesome markers and I can't get enough of them. LOL
I'll try to post more often... it's good for me too because it gets me doing this stuff more often. Have a good night. So, as I mentioned, my latest 'obsession' is hand, brush and chalk lettering. I got home from work today to find amazon.ca had delivered some presents for me. :D I am very excited to continue learning this fun, new art form and these new tools will help me do it. I am taking an online class and one of the teachers is the author of the Chalk Lettering book. Can't wait to check it out! Always do something creative, everyday! I consider this my therapy to help me through some of life's problems. Enjoy your day! :D I know it's been a while since I posted anything but it's been a slow start getting back to any 'fun' stuff.
I'm working on getting my creative juices flowing again by doing some journalling. Hopefully, I'll have something to show very soon. In the meantime, here is one product that I'd LOVE to get my hands on! They're called Chameleon alcohol markers but I can't seem to find them in my local craft stores yet. Since our CDN dollar sucks right now, ordering from the states is not a good option for me. If anyone knows where you can get them (without going through the US) that would be so appreciated. Anyhow, you have to check out this video. They are very cool! You can get gradients without having to have a whole range of pens/colours. Can't wait to try them out. Have a great and creative day! :D |
